My name is Andrew Kreller and I started Flameguard in 1997 to meet the installation, maintenance and safety concerns of wood burning appliance users. I have preferred to keep my business small as I enjoy helping customers on a more personal one on one basis as opposed to expanding too many employees and running the business on a volume basis.

History
Shortly after starting the business I realized that I could better serve my clients by becoming affiliated with W.E.T.T (Wood Energy Technology Transfer) W.E.T.T. is a Canadian wide education and accountability group to promote knowledge and professionalism in the solid fuel industry. It is in fact the only credential recognized by the insurance industry Canada wide when it comes to safety and code inspections. I am a W.E.T.T. Certifide Technician, System Adviser, Chimney Sweep and Site basic adviser.
WETT is a Canadian training and certification agency which provides accountability for the wood heat industry.

I bought and had installed a Pacific Energy insert for my fireplace from Flameguard in January 2015.
Just before this another well known company in Victoria had come to my place to see if they could install an insert but they said that it would be IMPOSSIBLE as the fireplace was much too narrow(house built in 1910). Andrew came out and said it was narrow but he could get the job done. He installed the insert and liner system, extended and re-tiled the ember pad tiles in front of the fireplace and checked with me after to see that it was working properly.
The following year when i was having a very hard time lighting a fire in the fireplace he came over and showed me how to do it properly, with smaller kindling.
I currently have him clean clean my fireplace each and every year and he does a great job on that as well !!!!
